AWS Cost Waste Calculator
Most AWS bills carry 20–40% pure waste. Plug in a few numbers to see where yours is hiding — NAT Gateways, over-provisioned compute, and on-demand pricing — and what you'd save by fixing it.
Most teams over-provision and sit at 15–25%.
NAT Gateway → VPC Endpoints
Removable egress + data-processing cost
Rightsize over-provisioned compute
Toward 60% utilization
Spot / Karpenter migration
Interruption-tolerant workloads
Directional estimate from public AWS us-east-1 pricing and typical FinOps engagements. Not a quote — real numbers come from your actual Cost & Usage Report.
How the estimate works
- NAT Gateways: hourly charge ($0.045/hr) + $0.045/GB data processing. Most of this is removable by routing private-subnet traffic through VPC Endpoints.
- Over-provisioned compute: if your average CPU utilization is low, we estimate the savings from rightsizing toward a healthy 60% target.
- Spot migration: the interruption-tolerant share of your remaining compute moved to Spot Instances at roughly a 65% discount vs on-demand.

Why trust these numbers
Aligned incentives
Cost work is performance-based — I'm paid from what I save you. If your bill doesn't drop, I don't get paid.
